REGISTRATION:

All participants must check in at the SCGA registration tent upon arrival Monday morning. 

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

Starting holes and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org/fourball one week in advance of the Championship. 

Round 1 (Monday) will be a Split Tee Start at 7:30 a.m.

Round 2 (Tuesday) will be a Split Tee Start at 7:30 a.m.

 

Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.

 

FORMAT:

The Championship will be 36 holes of four-ball stroke play competition (two-person better ball).  18 holes will be played each day of the event.

   

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense by calling the Friendly Hills Pro Shop at (562) 693-3623.  Please identify yourself as a participant of the SCGA Four-Ball Championship. Tee times can be made on a space available basis.  Fee: $55 to walk, $67 to ride.

 

TEES AND YARDAGE:   

Play will be from the BLACK yardages.

Course Rating: 71.6 / Slope: 132 /Approx. 6,408 yards / Par 70

Hole by hole yardage can be viewed on the yardage tab within the championship portal.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

The driving range will open at 6:30 a.m. on each day of the Championship. Range balls will be provided complimentary on the driving range during the championship courteous of Friendly Hills. 

 

FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:

The snack bar will be open from 6:30 a.m. until the conclusion of play on both days of the Championship. Cash and major credit cards will be accepted. Coolers of bottled water will be on the 1st and 10th tees but please come prepared to stay hydrated as well.

 

The SCGA will be hosting a player’s luncheon for all teams following the conclusion of Round 1 on Monday.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

  • The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play;

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:

The cart fee for each day of the championship is $18 per player. There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).  Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts.  Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk. Pull carts and push carts are allowed.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

Players may provide their own caddie (See section on Automotive Transportation). Caddies must adhere to the dress code listed in section below. Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

Players and caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts and tank tops will not be permitted. Shirts must be tucked in and hats are to be worn forward at all times. 

 

CANCELLATIONS:

To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Rules and Competitions Department at (818) 980-3630, or by clicking here. If a player needs to withdraw on the morning of the event, notify the SCGA staff person through the golf shop staff at the host venue. Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions. Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
